In accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values and Leadership Expectations set forth by HealthSource Saginaw (HSS) and any applicable federal, state and/or regulatory statues/guidelines, the Director of Clinical Services is responsible for performing a wide range of inpatient care activities for assigned patients, program development, and provides quality assurance reviews of the Therapists/Social Workers in the inpatient Behavioral Medicine program.
This position supervises all Inpatient Therapists, Social Workers, Recreational Therapists, Occupational Therapist and the adolescent educational services.
This position reports to the Program Executive for Behavioral Medicine.

Master’s in Social Work from an accredited university is required.
Required to be a fully Licensed Master’s Social Worker in the State of Michigan.
Three years post-license with applicable work experience required.
Experience in inpatient settings, quality activities, program planning, development and implementation, and clinical supervision in the specific service areas are preferred.
Progressive leadership experience in healthcare settings preferred.
Approved CPR Certification.
As the Director of Clinical Services:
Oversees the completion of admission assessments identifying psychosocial functioning, needs, problems, and strengths.
Complies with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) standards with regards to the quality and time frames needed for assessments and completion of documentation.
Oversees the coordination of the development and implementation of treatment plans in consultation with other treatment team members; participates in plan reviews to determine effectiveness; and explains treatment plan to patient.
Oversees the coordination of discharge plans with team, and community resources serving as a patient advocate/case manager for securing community support/further care including prescription assistance; provides education for patient and families/significant relations.
Ensures discharge packets are complete (including release or waiver) and provided to the appropriate aftercare providers.
Provides intervention services including individual, group, and family therapy; crisis intervention as needed.
Identifies/makes recommendations for alternate treatment methods as necessary.
Documents in the clinical record as outlined in policy.
Utilizes the outcome measurement system and reviews for clinical improvement measures.
Adheres to various standards and codes of practice, for all administrative agencies, that apply to psychiatric hospitals.
