PAY GRADE: $19.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources-along with general direction/coordination from the Human Resource Generalist, serves as a primary customer service contact to the Human Resource Department.
This position will perform a variety of confidential HR functions, including answering telephone calls, greeting visitors and employees; data entry, typing of correspondence; order and maintain office supplies; provide clerical support to the department; set up and maintain files, and other HR related matters.
This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery-based practices; person centered planning as a shared decision-making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and a trauma informed culture of safety to aid consumer in the recovery process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: 1.
Supports the department and department staff by taking minutes, making copies, scanning documents, assembling packets, preparing mailings, creating calendars, typing correspondence, memos, forms, reports, scheduling appointments, and updating other documents as directed.
2.
Communicates with departments and programs on Human Resource needs and serves as liaison between departments and HR office.
3.
Performs a variety of tasks on computer for departmental staff.
4.
Responsible for maintaining filing systems.
Handles confidential materials.
5.
Enters data into computer and generates reports.
6.
Serves as receptionist and provides assistance and basic information on function of department and its activities in a courteous and professional manner.
Directs walk-ins and phone calls to proper activity or person.
Assists with scheduling appointments and rooms.
7.
Assists with wellness events, programs or projects.
8.
Assists with gathering and entering data for wellness activities 9.
Assist with typing and mailing departmental correspondence, copying employee files and other miscellaneous duties as assigned 10.
Orders and maintains office supplies.
11.
Assists in the confidential management of the department fax, scan and copy equipment.
12.
Maintains administrative functions within the department.
13.
Has general knowledge of other SCCMHA programs in order to transfer calls appropriately.

Attends meetings, in-service training, or workshops in order to sustain competency in duties.

Maintains a neatly organized human resources waiting room reception area.

) REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Director of Human Resources Supervises: None WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT: Works in normal office environment with pressures of time constraints and numerous interruptions from telephone calls and walk-ins.
May deal with upset and/or confrontational applicants or employees.
Daily exposure in all other department areas.
Requires extensive use of computer equipment for long periods of time.
Extremely high accuracy and above average speed in completing assignments by exact time deadlines are required.
Ability to drive automobile to offsite facilities or meetings-sometimes in bad weather.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent with courses in general business, typing, bookkeeping, office practices, and computers.
Associates degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience, working in Human Resources, preferably in a mental health / healthcare setting.
This minimum requirement may be waived at SCCMHA discretion based upon the candidate’s overall job experience.
Licenses and Credentials: Valid Michigan Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1.
Must possess knowledge of typing, computers, spelling, excellent grammar skills, general business and office practices.

Ability to type accurately using alphanumeric keyboard.
3.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher.
4.
Ability to draft appropriate letters, memos and other correspondence.
5.
Ability to create reports as needed.
6.
Must be able to organize and maintain confidential information.
7.
Ability to prioritize and function within a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions.
8.
Ability to fax, scan and copy.
9.
Ability to serve public in a pleasant courteous manner, to communicate with individuals effectively and deal with irate individuals.

Ability to use tact and diplomacy and understand individuals from all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
