JOB SUMMARY:
The Donor and Program Information Specialist coordinates and analyzes donor, scholarship and philanthropic program information to optimize Saginaw Valley State University’s fundraising and development success, including training campus users of the Foundation’s constituent relationship management system.
Key functions also include donor-funded scholarship management activities and involvement in planning and implementation of donor stewardship initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Maximize the use of information systems to ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency of donor and program information using best practices to enhance successful fundraising and Foundation program operations.
Maximize the use of information systems to enable research and analysis of relationship and communications data to inform relationship cultivation, solicitation strategies and donor pipeline development.
Provide training and assistance for Foundation technology users.
Collaborate on the management of the donor-funded scholarship process and communications.
Facilitate Foundation communications, webpage, digital and social media content and strategies.
Contribute to a positive community impression of SVSU through planning and implementing donor and Foundation Board initiatives and events, both independently and as part of a team.
Assist with special projects as needed and other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direct supervision is received from the Executive Director of the SVSU Foundation.
Additional work assignments may be provided by other administrative staff in the SVSU Foundation.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Occasional supervision of student employees MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree Prior work or volunteer experience in fundraising prospect research or a related data-oriented field (i.
e.
, competitive/business intelligence, market research or library science) Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Strong technology skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Office and database management Ability to learn specialized software programs Ability to provide Foundation related technology training to individual stakeholders and small groups High attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; to organize, prioritize and expedite workflow under demanding circumstances Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately Ability to interact and work effectively with a diverse group of people, including staff, volunteers, donors, etc.
Comfortable with cross-departmental collaboration Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with web-based platforms Experience using Blackbaud products, including RENXT, RENXT Email, and Award Management, or similar products Experience using ImportOmatic, Live Alumni, or similar products Experience working in the higher education field Experience working in philanthropic development or advancement operations Experience overseeing data integrity and coordinating technology systems to improve efficiency Proficiency in managing organizational social media accounts.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.
