We have a 10 piece China Spice & Condiment Set for sale.
This Set was made in Germany.
We are getting a lot older and are starting to down size.
We bought this set in Iowa in the 1970’s.
This set was considered an “antique” set at that time (60 years ago) so it clearly is antique.
There are 4 “larger” containers with lids.
These containers measure 4 1/2 inch wide, 4 inch deep, and 8 inch high - to top of lid handle.
They are labeled “Oatmeal”, “Sugar”, “Barley” and “Tea”.
There is one lid missing.
We “baby sat” a neighbor’s cat for several days in the 1990’s and the cat somehow got up on our fireplace mantle and tried to get between one container and the wall.
The container fell over and the lid fell down to the fireplace base and broke into pieces.
There are 4 “smaller” containers with lids.
They measure 2 1/2 inch wide, 2 1/4 inch deep, and 4 1/4 inch high - to top of lid handle.
They are labeled “Pepper", “Nutmeg”, “Cloves”, and “All Spice”.
There are two containers of different shapes.
One is a pitcher that is 3 inch wide, 2 3/4 inch deep, and 8 inch high.
The pitcher is labeled “Oil”.
The second container has a wood lid that opens on hinges.
This container is labeled “Salt” and is 5 inch wide, 3 3/4 inch deep, and 6 1/4 inch high.
The bottoms of all containers are labeled with “Made in Germany” and imprinted with “# 325”.
We had this set appraised in 2001 - the lid was missing at the time of the appraisal.
The appraised value was $500.
That might be correct but we don’t consider our mid-Michigan market on craigslist big enough to support/expect that price.
We live in Midland and will sell this set for $150 cash.
