POSITION OPENING Secondary Social Studies + Teacher 2024-2025 SY Job Posting Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Social Studies certification and at least one other core subject.
Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
Alternative applicable qualifications may be considered.
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills: Successful experience working with middle school-age students.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level.
Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
Willingness to accept and perform additional supervision responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred desire to be involved in extra-curricular activities outside of the school day.
A successful candidate will be able to: Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
Ability to support other core content areas with cross-curricular collaborations.
Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
Contribute to a professional learning team.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
