Required Qualifications:
Successful coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level.
HPSD certified professional educators desired but not required.
HPSD certified staff will be given first consideration (automatic interview).
Alternate qualifications may be considered.
Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
Background that includes a high level of volleyball knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
A successful candidate will be able to:
Relate to and instruct student athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
Ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.
Ability to encourage student participation in the sport.
Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
Possess strong organizational, motivational, discipline and fundamental teaching skills.
Work with other coaches by supporting and encouraging students to participate in other sports.
Able to communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.
Contribute to a professional learning team of varsity coaches.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
Salary: As per negotiated district contract.
