Required Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with elementary education certification.
Early childhood focus with a strong English Language Arts skill set.
Training/experience with literacy and interventions.
Experience with a variety of Assessment tools/Strategies.
Experience working with younger children/students.
Meet the definition of Highly Qualified Teacher per federal regulations.
Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
A successful candidate will possess:
Successful experience working with elementary-age students.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level.
Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
A successful candidate will be able to:
Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
Develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in all core content areas.
Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
Contribute to a professional learning team.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
