Summary:
The MRI Clinical Associate demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
This individual, under general supervision and/or detailed instruction, assists the medical, technical and nursing staff in the coordination, scheduling and organization of the MRI schedule; (S)he transports and prepares patients scheduled for MRI procedures.
(S)he maintains appropriate records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities: Contributes to organization success targets for net operating margin.

Has clinical contact with patients in all age groups (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and is able to appropriately assess, care for and treat them according to the age appropriate care guidelines as defined by Covenant HealthCare.
Calls all patients scheduled for MRI to confirm appointment, obtain initial history and arrange registration through outpatient department.
Supplies physician offices with prep sheets and scheduling information.
Coordinates the MRI schedule each day of operation.
Investigates and resolves scheduling conflicts so as to minimize down time and patient waiting.
Ensures appropriateness of order; prepares patient information prior to appointments; processes orders as required; charges supplies and exams; responsible for inventory control and stocking linen.
Transports patients to and from the Imaging and Diagnostic Services Department if needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of MR safety, hospital safety and infection control policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Follows proper procedures for sterilization and follows procedure for cleaning up contaminated materials and supplies.
Preserves patients' privacy and maintains confidentiality of patients' information.
Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and Federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation / compliance requirements.
Anticipates customer needs and provides services to all customers, including patients, physicians, hospital departments, and staff.
Coordinates requests for services, information, records, and data on a timely basis.
Researches and resolves problems.
Ensures that patients, their families, visitors, and employees are treated with kindness and respect.
Demonstrates teamwork and integrity in all work-related activities.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within the organization.
Attends mandatory internal and external meetings and in-services as required.
Keeps statistical logs for the State of Michigan and for Covenant HealthCare System.
Maintains proficiency in all computer functionality necessary to perform job duties(RIS, PACS, QC, email, etc.
) Performs other duties as assigned.
Other information: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent BCLS certification Previous 12 months experience with direct patient care required Six months or more PC/computer experience required Previous experience in radiology services preferred KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Completed medical terminology course or its equivalent.
