Position Role & Overview:
Production I personnel perform labor on necessary machinery and equipment to complete work orders, in an efficient manner, for material or assemblies on prescribed due dates.
Employees are assigned to different work stations as production needs require.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate basic machinery and equipment, powered and non powered tools to manufacture products
Fabricate sub-assembly and final assembly of components & products according to blueprint/ specifications provided utilizing assembly equipment, fixtures and assembly stations including but not limited to Bender, Autoframe, Press, Drill, Grinder, Pierce Gemini assembly and Handtruck Knock Down kits.
Responsible for accurate completion of production activity records (i.
e.
work orders, kit picking lists, transfer slips, dispatches, hold tags, etc…)
Responsible for monitoring quality and accuracy of material and assemblies produced, including verification of first and last piece inspection.
Verify compliance according to standard operating procedures and sorts out discrepant material when required
Accurate use of measuring devices & assisting others in the use of inspection gauges and fixtures
Perform dimensional inspection of product, checking fixtures, and production tooling as needed
Assist with process capability studies and collects data during in-process audits for process control purposes
Input data into a personal computer (PC) for Statistical Process Control (SPC) studies when applicable
May operate a forklift (forklift certified) and pallet lifting equipment or have the ability to obtain a valid forklift drivers license
Must be able to safely operate overhead crane/hoist if necessary and have the ability to become licensed in compliance with OSHA standards.
Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on equipment an tools as required
Maintain good housekeeping practices to include assisting with the removal of scrap by emptying scrap gondolas when they become full.
This only applies to individuals who have a valid forklift license.
Reports to Team Champion or Supervisor upon completion of assigned work and cleaning of work area, for next assignment
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Use of measuring devices
Read & interpret blueprints/specifications
Experience operating industrial equipment preferred
Basic math skills
