High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with the fundamentals of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, steam generation, and carpentry preferred.
Must possess the ability to read, write, comprehend and follow general verbal instructions, as well as basic computer and technology skills.

Repairs to and/or maintenance of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems and facility equipment, (i.
e.
fluorescent tubes, receptacles, switch replacement, head wall units; electrical/mechanical, bed repair, nurse call system repair, clearing clogged drains, flush valve repair, faucet assemblies, television adjustment/installation, office furniture and shower chair repair, drain line repair/cleaning, thermostat adjustment, shade and blind repair, brick and concrete floor repair, etc.
).
Repairs to and/or maintenance of building finishes including, but not limited to, carpentry, plaster/drywall, gypsum board, ceramic and vinyl tile, masonry, acoustical ceilings, etc.
(Including necessary painting thereof).
Completes necessary electrical safety inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of medical and non-medical equipment using appropriate testing equipment; completes necessary associated documentation.
Submits orders and estimates materials needed to complete assigned projects; interacts with vendors and suppliers to identify, locate and order supplies, parts and materials to complete job assignments.
Maintain facility grounds: Planting, cutting, trimming lawn; trimming /pruning shrubs, hedges and trees; planting and watering flowers; application of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers; raking leaves; lawn sprinkler system repair; snow removal as needed, etc.
Construction, installation, and/or repair of: cabinets, counter tops, walls, doors, window hardware, screens, suspended ceilings, floor covering, roofing, door closures, masonry, office chairs, etc.
Conducts the repair and maintenance of all locks and lock hardware, i.
e.
re-pin and re-key lock cylinders, installation of lock assemblies and key fabrication for new and existing locks; tracks keys issued to staff within organization, etc.
Minor repairs to glass in windows, doors, cabinets, etc.
, including the selection, glazing thereof.
The repair and installation of wood veneers, plastics and vinyl laminates.
Organizes, performs routine maintenance, and repairs all wheelchairs and other medical equipment owned by HSS within the facility in accordance with safety standards, and replacement needs.
Perform maintenance of steam generating support equipment i.
e.
repacking of valves, minor repair of steam condensate and chemical feed lines, calibration of water treatment supply equipment, boiler water testing, etc.
Follows established procedures in response to events of internal disaster, external disaster, power failure, fire, patient/resident evacuation and snow/ice removal.
Adheres to all facility and department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Communicates verbally and/or in writing with involved parties to provide status updates regarding the work being completed.
Takes primary lead with exterior bug infestations, as well as bed bug situations where items need to be moved and/or disposed of.
Assists with and/or takes primary lead (if Materials Management is not available) with moving furniture, other items as needed; will also complete assembly/disassembly of items as indicated.
