Steel Fabrication Welder

*Steel Fabrication Shop Welder Job Description: *This position will report to the shop supervisor and must know how to properly use common welding tools, metal-working equipment, interpret blueprints/drawings, and perform layout & fit-up of parts.
The Welderwill interact with the shop supervisor and other team members to ensure that jobs are completed in a safe, consistent, accurate and timely manner.
*Key Responsibilities: * * Use of FCAW welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies.
* Operate other necessary equipment and perform tasks to fabricate parts to specification.
* Layout and fit-up of parts to be welded.
* Ability to read/interpret blueprints/drawings.
* Inventory of parts and perishable materials.
* Ability to complete daily logs and PM forms.
* Report fabrication issues and assist with resolutions.
* Assist with other shop activities as necessary.
*Skills/Qualifications: * * High School or G.
E.
D.
equivalent.
* Welding Certification- FCAW preferred.
* Familiarity with creating/using jigs & fixtures.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and prints (i.
e.
blueprint drawing).
* Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools.
* Experience with metal-working tools.
* Possesses good communication skills and works well in a team environment.
* Positive and proactive attitude – fostering a team attitude.
* Attention to detail and quality of work.
* Willingness to step in and assist other team member with their work.
