The Plant Manager position is located at GCC’s Rapid City, SD plant.

Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities): • Must have a minimum of 5 years cement plant experience to be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree required; engineering degree preferred.
MBA Preferred.
• Proven interpersonal skills with ability to build positive working relationships.
• Must be a positive leader that directs and motivates the staff.
• Must be a self-starter that can work independently for plant activities.
• Strong written/verbal communication, analytical, and computer skills.
• High work ethics and expectations of excellence in performance.
• Prioritizes the safety program and culture while strictly achieving compliance.
What you will do: Directs, coordinates, and administers production, quarry, quality control and maintenance activities for the cement manufacturing facility.
Responsible for the safe and environmentally compliant operation of the plant.
Has P&L responsibility to meet operations budget objectives including raw material, fuel and power, salary and benefit and fixed operational expenses.
Maintains alignment with the strategic plans of GCC and coordinates support from corporate resources.
Directs and coordinates activities of the plant leadership teams including: Main Responsibilities: • Responsible for coordinating the plant safety program to ensure a safe and compliant operation for all employees.
• Responsible for operating the facility within environmental constraint and permits, including minimization of plant impacts to the air and water.
• Responsible for directing and supporting key areas in the plant including process, production/manufacturing, electrical, quality and maintenance and reliability.
• Responsible for the protection of plant equipment and assets.
• Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders in the surrounding communities.
• Works in coordination with sales teams to achieve shipping goals, maintain customer satisfaction and resolve problems and conflicts, and conduct promotional activities.
• Organizes the setting, tracking, and achieving plant sustainability goals.
• Responsible for the scheduling of raw materials and products to ensure availability of materials to meet the needs of the plant processes and customer.
• Ensures that appropriate maintenance plans are in place for plant mobile and stationary equipment in order to meet production needs.
• Must be a leader that champions the GCC loyalist culture and encourages cross-functional communication and collaboration.
• Oversees plant machinery and mobile equipment preventive maintenance programs and major maintenance projects and activities.
• Plans and directs the expenditures of the capital program.
• Directs the engineering program and technical support for production, maintenance, and lab.
• Responsible for creating and working within operational and capital budgets.
• Directs inventory control of materials, parts and supplies needed to support the operation.
• Develops long range plans for plant operations, capital programs, and raw material reserves and personnel requirements.
• Hires, counsels, and trains assigned personnel and sets individual goals.
Evaluates performance, recommends salary adjustments, promotions, administers discipline in order to accomplish objectives using strong leadership.
• Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing, community, and trade associations.
