JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing plant floor workflow, shop floor employees, on-time delivery and compliance with all company safety, quality, and quantity policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.
Supervises shop floor employees.
2.
Collaborates with production, engineering, and other relevant departments to establish and maintain quality standards.
3.
Develops, implements, and manages a quality control system to ensure the consistent production of high-quality products.
4.
Oversees the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
5.
Identifies root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to address issues and improve overall product quality.
6.
Provides training to manufacturing employees on quality control processes, standards, and best practices.
7.
Maintains a workflow that corresponds with business system scheduling tools.
8.
Responsible for manufacturing processes and equipment.
Organizes work for smooth operations and shift changes.
9.
Reports any programming, processing and equipment problems to the corresponding departments and the Operations Manager.
10.
Responsible for meeting production, quality, and quantity standards.
11.
Responsible for implementing company safety policies and training employees.
12.
Ensures accurate data entry into the business system via direct training and supervision of labor pool.
13.
Conducts regular departmental information and safety meetings communicating to the labor pool as directed by the Operations Manager.
14.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, engineering or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a job shop.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Proven experience in quality control and assurance within a manufacturing setting.
Experience working with our business system software.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office software products.
Requirements: Understands lean manufacturing concepts and initiates process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Hands-on approach.
Shift work and travel required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
An office environment in a controlled atmospheric building as well as a plant floor environment.
