As a Manufacturing Machine Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for keeping all plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair.
You’ll be examining machines, diagnosing issues, replacing defective parts, and making necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
*What this work looks like: * * Complete preventative maintenance on machinery using diagrams, operation manuals, manufacture’s instructions, and engineering specifications * Install new equipment * Observe mechanical devices in operation using precision testing and measuring instruments and locate sources of problems * Use hoists, cranes, and power tools to move equipment * Control downtime of equipment by creating and communication preventative maintenance schedule * Fabricate parts to use in repairs * Maintain and grow technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings, reviewing technical publications, and building a professional network * Document and communicate observed actions, irregularities, and continuing needs *Skills needed to win:* * Two years of technical training and a minimum of one year experience or equivalent * Ability to read and interpret documents including wiring schematics, ladder logic, and machine manuals * Basic and advanced electrical installation experience * Ability to adjust machine and automation control parameters * High school Diploma or GED *Did you know?* GPMI, a Gemini Group company, is North America’s leading supplier of forge tooling.
