Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for Procurement and Logistics in a high volume manufacturing and R&D setting.
All incoming and outgoing transactions are managed, which includes logistics, raw material planning, maintenance and spare part ordering, and capital purchase orders.
The Supply Chain Manager works closely with Commercial, Operations, Quality, IT and Finance on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly and monthly reporting of procurement and logistics
Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department
Maintain required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production
Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes
Negotiate prices/volumes for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies
Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments
Assess the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials
Manage procurement and logistics team members, including goal setting and performance reviews
Manage site inventory and conduct bi-annual site inventory count
Manage warehouse inventory and keep records of the inventory
Troubleshoot all SAP issues
Create work procedures and instructions
Approve all purchase orders, new vendors, and new material number requests
Work closely with Finance team on Invoicing and Accounts Payable issues/improvements
Establish enterprise-level procurement strategies to ensure short- to long-term supply and continuously reduce costs
Develop comprehensive supply chain risk assessment tools and associated mitigation plans
Physical Requirements:
Light Work – Mainly in an office setting
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
Previous supply chain experience in a manufacturing setting required
Previous track record of achieving cost reductions in a similar role
Strong ownership mentality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
SAP experience
Commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
Previous track record of diversifying supply bases
Cross-cultural or international experience
Previous track record of supporting fast business growth in a similar role
