Our team is expanding and looking to add an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.
We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.
Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) standards at a manufacturing facility and smaller nearby pass-through facility.
Maintain compliant with MIOSHA, MIEGLE and federal laws.
Develop, implement, and monitor safety strategies that promote a safe and healthy workplace.
Identify employee safety training needs and plan for training and other methods needed to achieve desired results.
Communicate with your safety team members, supervisors, and managers to obtain or maintain complaint with applicable regulations.
Other responsibilities include:
Implement EH&S policies and procedures and measure effectiveness of results
Work with employees at all levels to implement EHS standards and requirements
Oversee work activities of safety team members which you lead
Facilitate training sessions and secure appropriate training for other trainers
Complete or update job hazard assessments and PPE assessments for job tasks
Maintain required records and documentation necessary to prove regulatory compliance
Maintain site compliance with hazardous waste regulations
Participate in ISO 14001 performance and certification process and audits
Work with corporate EHS on projects and initiatives
Maintain subscription to MIOSHA and MIEGLE Emails
Implement and assist with facility security procedures and processes
To qualify for this role you must meet the following:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years of closely related experience and understanding of OSHA standards
Able to present training information in a professional, clear format to others
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Manufacturing environment experience desired, automotive a plus
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), DOT and OSHA 30-Hour training preferred
