About you and this role Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician Specialist in Midland, MI.
This electrician role will lead and perform testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.
Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on site electrical distribution equipment to defined schedules and procedures.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide effective repairs to electrical distribution equipment, including high voltage switching equipment, DC backup battery systems, and Energy and Utilities electrical equipment (boiler and pumping systems), and Central Shops and Services equipment.
Participate in Electrical Reliability improvement activities as appropriate (spare parts identification) Provide electrical SME support to Improvement/Capital projects.
Provide electrical expertise to Root Cause Investigations.
Provide updates as required into our Maintenance Management System (SAP).
Participate in on-call duties within the department (may require rotational on call duties).
Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is required.
State of Michigan Electrical License required.
Able to work overtime as needed.
A minimum requirement for this U.

based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Preferred Skills 1 or more years of experience working on High-Voltage equipment, battery systems, and/or Power Distribution Systems.
This role is for highly motivated persons with Electrical repair experience that exhibit leadership skills, display flexibility in working with others, have experience working in a chemical plant, demonstrate proficiency in electronic tools and embrace an ownership culture.
Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
Have strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.
Effectively interacts with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.
Demonstrates excellent decision making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately.
Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.
Has strong troubleshooting skills.
Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
