The Global Sustainability Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications strategy in collaboration with our sustainability and advocacy partners, and help position Dow as a front runner, thought leader and progressive partner in being the leading low carbon, circular solution provider.
Delivering impactful content, stories, and thought leadership through various channels including digital and social media, trade media relations, paid media, trade show and events will drive reputation during a pivotal and transformational moment for the industry.
Reporting directly to the Global Communications Director for Industrial Intermediates & Infrastructure (II&I), you will be an integral part of our cross-functional team, working with colleagues around the globe.
The primary locations for this role will be in Midland, MI.
However, we are also open to filling this role in Marietta, GA.
Responsibilities Develop global communications strategy: Lead the development of sustainability communications strategies for PU and DIS, aligned with business strategies, including our circularity and renewable solutions and decarbonization & grow ambitions.
Lead strategy implementation: Drive the execution of these strategies, setting clear milestones and annual goals to achieve our vision.
Serve as a subject matter expert: Actively participate in Sustainability teams for both businesses and lead strategic counsel for all spokespeople in the sustainability domain.
Drive external engagement: Analyze trends to optimize engagement across channels such as media, social, paid, digital and traditional amplifying our sustainability message and engaging target audiences.
Manage global budgets: Manage global project budgets and resource management/billing, including leading supplier selection, work, and relationships.
Develop content: Develop, manage, and deliver compelling content that engages target audiences.
This includes message development, writing and storytelling, video production and graphic design instruction.
Measure communications outcomes: Analyze communications results and convert data into meaningful insights to facilitate data-based decision making and define future strategies.
Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience (e.
g.
, marketing communications, business communications, etc.
).
Strong copy writing and editing, as well as a strength for creative storytelling including the ability to condense complex material into compelling copy and visuals.
Knowledge of communications principles, including digital communications and content marketing.
Strong business acumen with an understanding of and ability to translate business strategy into communications strategy.
Ability to prioritize masterfully to address priorities, manage multiple projects and clients concurrently, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse cultures, functions, and time zones, able to successfully operate in a matrixed organization with minimal supervision.
