*Position Summary:* Smart Building Services (SBS) is looking for a *Smart Building Systems – HVAC Controls Technicians *in Mid Michigan (Lansing, Flint, Saginaw, Midland, Bay City).

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* This is a development position where you will be learning the *Smart Building Systems – HVAC Controls Technican* role.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Our Service Technicians deliver the following typical tasks for our clients: · Responds to customer service calls on a timely basis · Performs scheduled preventative maintenance services · Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs and debugs systems for issues · Installs and programs small projects for retrofits or added equipment · Completes accurate and detailed service reports for clients · Assists sales / estimating with identifying costs and time associated with recommended repairs / upgrades for clients.
· Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems · Proactively seeks technical guidance from more experienced staff for difficult and unusual situations.
· Provides technical support to both end users and in-house installation team.
· Teaches and consults clients on their systems and best use.
· Presents a professional image for SBS.
Remains calm in unknown circumstances and always acts with integrity in the best interest of our clients and SBS.
*Qualifications / Requirements:* * High school diploma or GED * Post-Secondary education/technical degree/electrical apprenticeship, completed or currently enrolled * Technical experience related to HVAC controls / building automation systems, electronic security systems, fire alarm or IT computer networks (1-3 years experience + preferred) * Mechanical/electrical/technical aptitude and a passion for working with your hands * Basic computer skills required with aptitude to learn additional tools and software.
* Demonstrated focus on safety, quality and goal attainment * Operates with honesty and integrity * Self-driven, reliable and able to work independently even under pressure * Curious with a desire to learn and grow * Solid planning, organizing, time management, communication, problem solving skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to travel regionally to project sites, work overtime and in varied weather conditions required.
* Ability to work at elevated heights, and to lift up to 50 lbs.
