The Construction Site Quality Control Manager will have the responsibility and authority to direct work performed for each project in accordance with the statement of work.
This position is directly responsible for the management and oversight of the quality of all in-field installations as it relates to work plans, as well as project specific health and safety programs.
Review work plans and develop job-specific Definable Features of Work (DFOW) list
Develop a job-specific quality control plan and modify as construction and associated plans evolve
Work with QA to verify that quality control measures have been implemented and expectations are being met
Attend all progress meetings and coordinate field activities with the Superintendent, Project Manager, Submittal Manager and other relevant team members, includes collaboration to maintain as-built records, as well as resolution of quality, schedule, and/or other issues having a potential project-cost impact
Coordination and collaboration with testing agencies, Engineering of Record (EOR), Designers, and QA
Subcontractor work oversight and direction to ensure quality craftsmanship and strict adherence to plans and specifications
Verify, inspect, and document work in progress and material deliveries, includes review of RFIs, submittals, and development of daily material logs
Verify all work meets permit requirements
Lead bi-weekly DFOW meetings with relevant team members prior to work performance, with additional meetings as required, includes meeting minute-development and distribution, as well as follow-up to verify completion of open tasks
Attend Tool Box Talks to address Quality of daily tasks
Complete Quality Control-focused daily reports and develop RFIs
Assist the EOR with development and gathering of required Quality Control Close Out documents
Be present during all work performed (may include extended hours and weekends, as well as working in inclement weather)
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
Experience with construction project management software (Procore, preferred)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office & Excel
Previous construction project management and/or superintendent experience (minimum 5 years)
Ability to recognize issues in the built environment
Willingness and ability to travel
Knowledge of quality control procedures
