*Job Summary: *
* Responsible for inspecting machined parts during production to ensure they meet drawing and customer requirements using inspection tools and gauges.
* They are responsible for approving or rejecting materials with respect to quality standards and recording performance.
* They select output samples and check them using appropriate inspection methods.
* Finally, they prepare and submit inspection/rejection reports to the quality manager.
* Performs First Piece, In Process, and Final Inspection of machined components during the manufacturing process.
* Read blueprints and job orders for production specifications.
* Reviews job/work instruction for completeness.
* Dimensionally inspects parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMM’s, bore gages, profilometers, etc
* Performs visual inspection of parts for defects, damage, burrs, and FOD.
* May perform finishing operations to correct rejected parts or assist with other production activities.
* Generates inspection and rejection reports.
*Skills, Education & Qualifications *
* Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
* Previous dimensional inspection experience required.
* Knowledge and operation of appropriate inspection techniques/methods
Blueprint reading skills.
* Adequate math skills with a basic understanding of Geometry, Trigonometry, and GD&T is preferred.
* Manufacturing/machining experience preferred.
